Description

The Foundation’s United States location has as its goal eradicating HIV. It focuses its grantmaking on support for innovative HIV prevention programs; efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS; and direct care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. The Foundation directs its support to community-based HIV/AIDS prevention education program; harm reduction programs; and direct services especially for populations with special needs. Direct service grants include HIV/AIDS-related physical and mental health services, HIV testing and counseling, street outreach and education, assisted living services, social service coordination, community volunteer recruitment and support, health literacy, treatment access, and advocacy. The United States arm of the Foundation funds community-based projects in the Americas and the Caribbean. Grants are awarded three times a year, but unsolicited proposals are only accepted during the December grant cycle. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
