Description

The Foundation supports projects that promote the arts and protect the environment in Boston, Cincinnati, and Mid-Coast Maine. Arts grants are concerned with, but not limited to, helping small organizations and new projects, which may increase public access to, enjoyment of, and support for the visual arts. They also work to enhance the role of the artist in the larger civil society. Environmental grants are focused on promoting greater human well being by supporting grassroots and other efforts to promote clean air, project water resources and coastal areas, and preserve open space resources, including recreational space and natural areas in urban, rural, and wilderness locations. The Foundation makes grants that benefit citizens of Boston, Cincinnati, and Mid-Coast Maine and from time to time the trustees may support organizations located outside these areas working on special projects designated for them. The Foundation’s grantmaking falls into two major categories: competitive grants and discretionary grants. The Foundation solicits new project ideas through a simple online Concept Application. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
