DescriptionThe Foundation, established in 1994, focuses its grantmaking to nonprofits in the communities where the Company, a supermarket chain, operates. Grants are awarded in four categories: health and welfare, educational institutions, civic and cultural institutions, other local charitable organizations. Preference is given to organizations or programs that involve Company associates, are located in the Company’s marketing area, and have the potential to provide ongoing services to its customers. Organizations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
