Description

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on two areas: arts and culture and precollegiate (K-12) education. The majority of the grants are awarded through the Foundation’s Small Grants in the Arts program. The Program emphasizes the development and presentation of the work of living artists located in the San Francisco Bay area. New work is the Foundation’s first priority but consideration will be given to retrospective and classical repertory of non-living artists. Applicants must be nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, residing in and offering programming in the greater San Francisco Bay area and must be able to demonstrate a consistent artistic presence in the Bay Area for at least three years. Applicants must have budgets between $100,000 and $750,000. The Foundation supports programs in dance, music, theater, the visual arts, interdisciplinary arts, and film/media arts. There are two grant cycles, spring and fall. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
