The Cleveland H. Dodge Foundation

Category

: Regional

Description

The Foundation was created in 1917 by an official of the Phelps Dodge corporation, a leading copper mining corporation. The Foundation supports institutions which help underprivileged youth build good moral character and sound values, those that demonstrate a visible and effective effort toward reversing global overpopulation, and those supported by both the Foundation and his descendants that continue to perform effective services. The Foundation also considers organizations which do not fit into the previously mentioned categories but have been consistently supported by the Foundation over a long period of time or qualify by virtue of both the ongoing interest and involvement of one or more of the Founder’s descendants. Priority is given to institutions and organizations in New York City and the Near East (Armenia, Turkey) countries. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
