The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust

Category

: General

Description

The Trust makes grants to programs and projects in the following topic areas: arts and culture, community development, education, environment, historic preservation, and journalism. The Trust also responds to the ever-changing needs of various segments of the population, especially to the needs of young people and people who are either physically or economically disadvantaged. Preference is given to proposals seeking funds for new or enhanced programs; one-time, short-term grants to sustain a program until funding is stabilized; matching grants used to encourage the participation of other donors; and “last dollars” toward a capital campaign. An initial letter of inquiry must be submitted on organizational letterhead and received by January 1 of the year the grant is requested. The letter of inquiry should be addressed to the nearest regional office in Syracuse, N.Y. or Reno, NV. If the proposal meets the Trust’s guidelines and priorities, an application will be sent out with a deadline of April 1. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
