DescriptionThe Foundation supports charitable organizations primarily in the Houston, Texas area in the areas of education, youth activities, health care and medical research, and cultural institutions. It has, as its special emphasis, support for the University of Texas at Austin. The Foundation focuses its gifts on groups and institutions that have been important to the Cockrell family in its history as well as important to the history of Houston and Texas. No grants are made to organizations outside of the United States or out of Texas unless the grant’s purpose is to benefit a Texas project. Grant requests sent by e-mail or fax will not be accepted.
