Description

The Foundation’s mission is to alleviate the suffering of individuals and families in the poorest communities. It does this through sustainable grassroots initiatives aimed at local empowerment, access to health services, and educational opportunities with the goal of fulfilling basic human rights, embracing a spirit of compassion, and service to all humanity. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on projects that affect women and children. In addition, the Foundation assists with NGOs and nonprofits that work with these populations: orphans, street children, child laborers, rural communities, slum communities, people with disabilities, and people affected by HIV. The Foundation sees four factors of global poverty: social injustice, economic disparities, lack of access to health services, and educational opportunities. It supports projects that work toward the improvement of those factors especially those that improve the health of vulnerable populations; provide economic support for children; and support economic empowerment through microcredit and training for women. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
