Sweet Water Trust
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Trust’s primary funding interest is conservation work in New England and Upstate New York with an emphasis on the forests of the Northern Appalachians including neighboring lands in Canada. The Trust’s mission is to support conservation that safeguards wild lands and waters, native wild flora and fauna, and living soils. The Trust has focused on large, landscape-scale conservation projects and requires that the land’s wilderness qualities be protected by a conservation easement or equivalent permanent legal instrument. Projects should have more than 10,000 acres of land in aggregate (including previously protected parcels and targets). The Trust does not accept unsolicited proposals. Interested applicants should call Eve Endicott for an interview. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
