The Louis And Harold Price Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation, funded with money from an ice cream supply business famous for its promotion of the Popsicle, has traditionally focused its grantmaking on innovative and creative programs primarily in the areas of education, health, and human services. Of particular interest is the area of entrepreneurial studies conducted at colleges and universities and which are funded through the Foundation’s dedicated grantmaking program, the Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. The Foundation prefers to fund community-based organizations that deliver direct support and services to local populations. The Foundation makes grants on both a seed funding and ongoing support basis but generally excludes support for capital campaigns, endowments, and building projects. It directs its support primarily to charitable organizations in New York, California, and Colorado. Additional information is available on the Web site.
