Women Win

Category

: International

Description

The Organization is the first international women’s fund that supports sport and physical activities as instruments for social change and women’s empowerment. Grantmaking is focused on nonprofits worldwide that develop sport activities to encourage and strengthen girls or women, to teach them important social and leadership skills, and to help them develop their character and self-esteem. Preference is given to nonprofits governed and directed by women and those that have an expressed focus on women’s human rights. Organizations based in Europe (Central, East and West); Asia and the Pacific; Africa; the Middle East; Latin America and the Caribbean are eligible for funding. Programs should promote organizational capacity building and sustainability; should be initiated and operated by and for women; should target marginalized and underprivileged girls and women; and should expressly target and contribute to social change for girls and women. Additional information is available on the Web site.
