Description

The Foundation’s Walking Trail Mini-Grant program seeks to fund walking trails designed to promote regular exercise through the creation of publicly accessible walking trails in both urban and rural settings. Projects that meet the following criteria are eligible for funding: the land will be used for the purpose of a walking trail for at least 10 years and will be accessible to the general public; the organization demonstrates community support through in-kind donations and program/event sponsorship at the trail; the organization can verify matching cash funds of 50 percent of the requested grant funds; and the organization has a long-term maintenance plan to ensure the trail remains in proper condition for use. Organizations in Louisiana are eligible.
