Description

The Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in communities where the Company has members. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on projects that address the following areas: hunger issues; human services (mostly through United Way); youth and education, especially rural youth; civic improvements; and arts and culture. Hunger issues are a high priority for the Foundation. Arts and culture grants are considered once each year in the spring with a May 1 deadline. The Foundation’s Community Grants funds national programs in 20 states. They are Arkansas, California, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. Additional information, including an online application and details on other targeted grants, is available on the Web site.
