Description

The Foundation’s Shared Planet Youth Action Grants program is intended to inspire young people to take action to create positive solutions to real local needs they see in their neighborhood. Successful grant applicants will exhibit all of the following qualities: deliver service to youth ages 6 to 24 with preference given to organizations that focus on young people ages 12 and older. Applicants should be able to provide opportunity to combine learning with action that supports communities and furthers global citizenship. They should also be able to deliver services, disseminate information, provide training and/or build broad networks, and provide existing and/or potential opportunities for Starbucks partners and multiple stores to be involved in a meaningful way. Of particular interest are programs and projects that have youth active in the organization’s leadership; those that provide development opportunities and tell the stories of emerging social entrepreneurs; and those that demonstrate a commitment to building bridges of understanding between and among different youth communities. The Foundation only reviews organizations through its online profile process. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
