Samuel Harris Fund For Children’s Dental Health

: Health

The Fund, a permanent endowment fund of the American Dental Association, is dedicated to the prevention of childhood cavities and to improving children’s oral health. For 2009-2010, organizations that sponsor programs for mothers and caregivers to help reduce the incidence of early childhood cavities are invited to submit an application. Competitive grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded solely for prenatal and postnatal oral health instruction for mothers/caregivers. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria: originality, creativity, and innovation; a defined method for measuring impact on the target audience with preference given to programs that measure and report past metrics of success; the potential for, or history of, continuous program operation; and demonstrated community and interprofessional involvement including volunteer support. Additional information as well as lists of other grant possibilities can be found on the Web site.
