Rbc Blue Water Project

Category

: International

Description

The Project, an initiative of the Royal Bank of Canada, will provide $50 million in grants through 2017 to support programs that foster a culture of water stewardship. The Project rests on four principles: focus, prioritization, collaboration, and impact. Project focus is on watershed protection and access to clean drinking water. Project prioritization has increased from a domestically focused scope to funding watershed protection and clean drinking water projects in developing nations. Project collaboration encourages applicants to develop collaborative approaches in executing the grant. And project impact will measure and report how the Project contributes to better understanding by more people of the sources and uses of, and threats to, fresh water resources in their communities. Also of interest is how well the Project contributes to more protected and restored natural areas within watersheds and more individuals with access to clean, safe drinking water in rural and indigenous communities.
