DescriptionThe Foundation focuses its grantmaking on organizations located in Israel working for charitable and benevolent purposes. The Foundation honors Ames’ parents, Max and Ida Freedland. Grants are awarded for programs and projects addressing religious and ethnic pluralism, social justice, and education. The Foundation’s board meets four times a year to review grant applications, usually in January, May, July, and October. All applicants are required to submit a letter of inquiry before submitting a full grant application. Letters of inquiry can be submitted at any time.
