Description

The Foundation, created by Aaron Contorer, a former Microsoft executive, focuses its grantmaking on investing in a more sustainable future for an increasingly wealthy world. It supports cost-effective, results oriented projects that promote a sustainable way of life in America (projects must be based in Seattle and San Diego) and in reducing worldwide population growth. The Foundation is also expanding into wealth and philanthropy studies, doing initial research work to support future publications and grants in the following areas: increasing the understanding of wealthy people, their attitudes and values, and their influence on culture and values worldwide and finding long-term ways to radically increase philanthropy. Proposals are evaluated for impact, likely success, cost effectiveness, and long-term focus. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
