DescriptionThe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the communications company, supports projects and programs in education (programs that develop a highly skilled technical workforce), community development (especially technology integration and education), health and human services (primarily through United Way), and arts and culture (especially projects that integrate technology into the arts experience). The Foundation concentrates its funding in the states where SBC has a substantial business presence: Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin. Of particular interest are projects that are regional or national in scope.
