The Genesis Foundation

DescriptionThe Foundation provides support to organizations in the fields of education and health for underserved children 0 to 18 years old as well as training programs in those areas. About 80 percent of the funding is earmarked for organizations in Colombia. The remainder will fund organizations in the New York metropolitan area, Washington, D.C., and southern Florida. The Foundation gives capital, operating, program, and general grants. Organizations must have been in operation for a minimum of two full years. Organizations also must include at least three people in the decision-making process at all times. And they must benefit a minimum of 50 people per year and not have a religious purpose. Colombian organizations must have raised an equivalent of $10,000 in U.S. dollars during the previous two years. United States organizations must have raised $20,000 during the previous two years.
