Description

The Fund’s mission is to promote a high performing health care system that achieves better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency, particularly for society’s most vulnerable. Those most vulnerable are defined as people with low incomes, the uninsured, minority Americans, young children, people with disabilities, and the elderly. The Fund focuses its grantmaking on projects in several areas: international health care policy and practice; improving the quality of health care services; and improving insurance coverage and access to care; and child development and preventative care. Preference is given to proposals that clarify the scope of serious and neglected problems and to develop, test, and evaluate the impact of practical, innovative models for addressing such problems. Proposals that disseminate tools and models of care that are proven effective or those that analyze the impact of policies and trends on well-defined issues are also of interest. The Fund awards two types of grants: board-level and small grants. The definition of those two grant types as well as additional information can be found on the Web site. There are no required application forms; a letter of inquiry is requested.
