DescriptionThe Alliance promotes justice, health, and opportunity by investing in the future of women and girls. It envisions a world where all women and girls are thriving in a just and equitable society and have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential. The Alliance supports Washington nonprofits providing programs and projects that support women and children in the following areas: the worth of women, equity and empowerment, justice and integrity, respect and inclusiveness, diversity, and collaboration. Preference is given to organizations that have women in leadership positions and who incorporate diversity in their projects and agencies. The Alliance awards grants for general operating support, capacity building, project specific, and population specific. It also provides economic opportunity grants, community response grants, and Ripple Fund grants. The Ripple Fund is a giving circle. Participants contribute $5,000 to fund specific organizations. Nonprofits interested in being included in the request-for-proposal list can email the Alliance. There are various deadlines. Check the Web site for specific dates.
