DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the retail and greeting card company. Its mission is to help create communities where all children have the chance to grow up as healthy, productive, and caring persons; vibrant arts and cultural experiences enrich the lives of all citizens; there’s a strong infrastructure of basic institutions and service, especially for persons in need; and all citizens feel a responsibility to serve their community. Applicants should have a strong sense of organizational mission and strong organizational leadership with a capacity to accomplish what is being proposed. The Foundation supports organizations based in and serving citizens of the following communities: Kansas City metropolitan area; Center, Texas; Columbus, Georgia; Enfield, Connecticut; Lawrence, Kansas; Leavenworth, Kansas; Liberty, Missouri; Metamora, Illinois; and Topeka, Kansas. The Foundation prefers to provide funds directly to an organization for programmatic purposes rather than participate in a fund-raising event.
