DescriptionThe Foundation’s grantmaking is focused on two areas: combating violence against women and teaching peace. Priority for the violence against women grants is given to organizations and people working to draw together the resources of knowledge on violence, increasing opportunities to speak out against violence, and creating new solutions addressing the problems associated with living and growing up in a violent home. Priority for the peace grants focuses on opportunities to develop the idea that violence against women is at the root of other forms of violence. Efforts to teach future generations of the power of nonviolence and keeping the right to hold accountable all of society’s institutions and officials are also of interest. Funding is intended to support the start up of new programs. Requests must be submitted in writing. Additional information is found on the Web site.
