DescriptionThe Foundation supports organizations located in the Pacific Northwest in the areas of human rights, civic development, environmental protection and conservation, and the arts and humanities. Environmental protection and conservation grants are awarded for both general operating expenses and special projects. Human rights/civic development grants are awarded for both general operating expenses and special projects, but not for direct services. Arts and humanities projects are awarded in Washington State only. Grants are awarded for both general operating support and special projects. Small technical assistance grants are also made throughout the year to assist organizations with training and skill development, expert consultation, leadership development, and networking. Preapplications must be submitted and deadlines are March 16 and September 16. Proposals are due April 30 and October 31. Organizations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia are eligible to apply. There are no application forms; letters of inquiry are encouraged.
