The Louis Calder Foundation
The Foundation seeks background letters from charter and parochial schools, charter management corporations, and community-based organizations for initiatives to develop comprehensive content based on core curriculum programs. Grants are earmarked for projects and programs to improve academic content by providing a coherent, sequenced, content-based curriculum during the regular and extended school day hours as well as during the summer. The curriculum should address a wide range of classical liberal subjects including literature, history, ethics, mathematics, and the sciences and be focused on grades K-8. Eligible organizations are asked to submit a brief letter of inquiry via e-mail. Organizations located in the Northeast Corridor and as far west as the Mississippi River with community populations no larger than 500,000 are eligible to apply.
