Description

The Foundation seeks background letters from charter and parochial schools, charter management corporations, and community-based organizations for initiatives to develop comprehensive content based on core curriculum programs. Grants are earmarked for projects and programs to improve academic content by providing a coherent, sequenced, content-based curriculum during the regular and extended school day hours as well as during the summer. The curriculum should address a wide range of classical liberal subjects including literature, history, ethics, mathematics, and the sciences and be focused on grades K-8. Eligible organizations are asked to submit a brief letter of inquiry via e-mail. Organizations located in the Northeast Corridor and as far west as the Mississippi River with community populations no larger than 500,000 are eligible to apply. Additional information is available on the Web site.
