Description

The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Balfour Company, focuses its charitable giving in three areas: Attleboro, Massachusetts-specific charities, scholarship, and educational organizations. Attleboro-specific funding is earmarked for charities that provide educational, human services, and health-care programming to underserved populations. The application deadline for this category is February 1. Scholarship funds are awarded to employees of the Company as well as their children, grandchildren, and other deserving Attleboro High School students. Educational grants are awarded to educational organizations promoting college readiness and access to underserved populations in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. There is a rolling deadline for educational organizations applying for a general education grant. Other organizations given special consideration include the Sigma Chi Foundation, the Inter-Fraternity Conference Foundation, Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, Phi Delta Phi Foundation, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
