The Foundation's 2005 Museum Connections program supports projects developed by art museums to increase interaction between museums and the people in their communities. This is the sixth year of the multi-year initiative. In 2005, art museums in the following states are eligible to apply for support through the program: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Awards are based on clearly defined project outcomes, the potential of a project to involve communities in the arts, demonstration of an organization's sustained commitment to community, innovation, and creativity, and the project's potential for replication. Emphasis also is placed on increasing access to the arts for traditionally underserved communities.
