JOB DESCRIPTION

AmeriCorps Environmental Education Leadership Corps (EELCorps) members are budding environmental education professionals who serve their Kentucky community by engaging in a term of service. During service, members will lead and engage learners in environmental education programs, lessons, and activities developed using best practices.

Members will be responsible for:

  • Leading environmental education lessons, programs, and activities of 20 minutes or more
  • Tracking and collecting data for these lessons
  • Maintain open communication with the site supervisor, including accurately the hours the member serves
  • Attend all EELCorps AmeriCorps training, including organization and team training, monthly meetings, and National Days of Service

 Benefits of Service:

All members receive service benefits, including a living allowance, education award, and professional development training.

  • Living allowance is a taxable income of $15,100 for full-time members disbursed in bi-weekly increments.

  • Members may apply for educational loan deferment or forbearance.
  • Full-time members are eligible for the following:
    • Health care
    • Child care
    • Full-time members are required to participate in the Professional Environmental Educator Certification. The PEEC is accredited through the North American Association for Environmental Education.
