Job Description

The Development Coordinator is responsible for aiding the executive director in identifying donor resources and grant opportunities, coordinating grant applications and proposals for long-term organizational sustainability, maintaining relations with current donors, and interfacing with the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the executive director in conceptualizing, implementing, and improving CoTA’s fundraising efforts and development initiatives
  • Research and identify available grant opportunities, prepare materials for grant applications and attachments, draft grant reports, and maintain a master calendar for grants
  • Assist grant writers and executive director in writing and editing project ideas and proposals, concept notes, and grant applications
  • Create and deliver presentations, including the arrangement of site visits for potential funders
  • Maintain relations with donors, update donor database, and monitor donor websites. Ensure timely acknowledgements of contributions, identify additional investor opportunities
  • Together with executive director prepare, develop, manage, and improve communications material for CoTA, including brochures, website, annual reports, posters, and mailing lists
  • Assist executive director with managing event budgets, organizing and providing staff support for community engagement events, fundraising events, and other outreach opportunities 


  • A degree in business-related subjects, economics, international studies or sales and marketing preferred
  • Experience in research, grant and report writing, strong analytical and proofreading skills, working with targets and deadlines 
  • Background as liaison with donors, grant panelists and other stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and disseminating public relations materials
  • Computer literacy and database management experience
  • Self-motivated and ability to assume responsibility as needed. Effective time management, multitasking and stress management skills 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to stakeholders
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude
  • Must be fluent in English. Spanish proficiency is a plus
  • Must be able to travel to local schools and sites
  • Able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting

Salary/Hours: $25/hour for 30 hours per week. Occasional weekends. Eligible for benefits.
