ABOUT THE DOG ALLIANCE (Formerly Austin Dog Alliance)
Since 2006, The Dog Alliance has been improving the lives of families and individuals through therapeutic programs which incorporate the powerful connection between dogs and humans.

Every year, nearly 200 Alliance therapy dog teams visit over 300 partner sites, including hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, family courts, schools and libraries, serving more than 50,000 people with therapy-dog services. The organization also trains service dogs for qualified veterans and first responders and provides vocational training, coaching and placement in dog-related careers for adults with disabilities. Last year, it added a 3,200 square-foot Kennel and Education Center to expand its service dog and job skills training programs.

This year, with dog-centric therapeutic services being provided across Central Texas and beyond and with human clients from throughout the nation applying to adopt their trained service dogs – the Austin Dog Alliance become simply “The Dog Alliance.”

As a rapidly growing organization with services which are in high demand, a fund development director will have the opportunity to capitalize on our momentum, to establish a strong foundation for future growth and to develop a fund development department that will grow as the organization continues to expand.

The Development Director will serve as a key position for the Dog Alliance, working in close partnership with the Executive Director, board members, and volunteer fundraisers. The Dog Alliance seeks a self-motivated, passionate, experienced fundraising professional to lead and manage the fund development department as well as play a key role in obtaining donations.

The Dog Alliance is looking for a goal-oriented person with strong relationship building and interpersonal skills. The ability to use innovative, creative and strategic thinking is essential to analyze, plan and implement strategies. We seek a Development Director who can multi-task and is detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the many facets of fundraising and the ability and or desire to manage others. Most of all, the candidate will have a passion for improving lives thru the therapeutic use of canines.
