May And Stanley Smith Charitable Trust

Category

: International

Description

The Trust supports organizations serving people in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Bahamas, and Hong Kong. The Trust focuses its grantmaking on four areas: children and youth, elders, the disabled and critically ill, and disadvantaged adults and families. Under the children and youth category, the Trust seeks to foster healthy development and future independence by increasing opportunities for youth ages 0-25. Elders grants seeks to ensure that vulnerable older adults achieve optimal independence and have access to opportunities that enhance their quality of life. Grants for the disabled and critically ill support those with physical or mental disabilities or a critical illness to ensure that they achieve their highest potential and have access to opportunities that enhance their quality of life. Under the disadvantaged adults and families category, the Trust seeks to promote self-sufficiency. Funded organizations should emphasize ways to permanently break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Of particular interest in all the categories are programs that offer direct services. Letters of inquiry are accepted on a rolling basis. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
