Description

The Foundation’s Human Rights grants are earmarked for advancing fundamental human rights both in the United States and abroad. Preference is given to grassroots efforts. Areas of interest include legal strategies to ensure fair treatment of immigrants and asylum seekers in the United States; international human rights advocacy concerning health and mental health; and conflict management strategies that encourage dialogue and diplomatic solutions to complex international political problems. The Foundation will also consider, on an emergency basis and in collaboration with others, time-limited projects that respond to urgent humanitarian and human rights crises created by natural disasters, civil strife, and war. The Foundation also awards educational opportunity grants, health and mental health grants to initiatives in Baltimore and New York City. The Foundation does not accept proposals via e-mail or fax. Additional information is available on the Web site.
