Alfred Fried Photography Award

DescriptionThe Award promotes photographers from all over the world whose pictures capture human efforts towards a peaceful world and the quest for beauty and goodness in their lives. The Award shows the various facets of peacefulness and aims to discover the best picture of the better side of humans and the positive aspects of changes in the world. The Award is given by The Photographische Gesellschatf and Edition Lammerhuber in partnership with other organizations including UNESCO, the International Press Institute, the Austrian Parliament, and the World Press Photo Foundation The Award is open to all photographers from anywhere in the world. Photographs must not be older than three years at the time when the call for entry opens. The top five listed photographers will receive a medal; the Peace Image of the Year will receive $12,000.
