Boston Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the nation. All of the Foundation’s work is guided by two main strategic goals: to ensure that Greater Boston residents are successful and thriving and Greater Boston communities are vibrant. The Foundation’s Vision Fund invites capacity building proposals from Boston-area nonprofits. Eligible activities may include capacity building efforts, pilot or demonstration projects, and/or program design, evaluation, or research, merger/restructuring effort and components of a strategic planning effort. Emphasis is on increasing nonprofit organizational impact and effectiveness. Generally only organizations that are not receiving Foundation support through the competitive or initiative funding process are eligible for Vision Fund grants. In general, projects should have a project budget of no more than $15,000. Grants are not awarded to individual public schools or other public agencies, but consideration will be given to requests from community organizations that offer programs in collaboration with these schools or public agencies. Additional information including application guidelines can be found on the Web site.
