Lego Children’s Fund

Category

: Children, Youth & Families

Description

The Fund is committed to helping children develop their creativity and learning skills through constructive play. Grantmaking is focused on local and national communities, organizations, and groups that cater to children ages birth-14. The Fund gives special consideration to those that support disadvantaged children; those supported by LEGO employee volunteers; special projects or programs designed to elevate a child’s opportunities for exploring creativity; and organizations serving Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Eligible applicants must be nonprofits (including educational organizations) that require support for projects in the areas of early childhood education and development; technology and communications that help advance learning opportunities; and sports or athletic programs for underserved youth. Grants range from $500 to $5,000 with one group identified and selected by the Fund’s board of directors receiving $100,000. While the Fund’s interests are local, there are no restrictions based on geography. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
