Maddie's Fund

Description

The Fund invites proposals for medical equipment grants for adoption-guarantee shelters that employ at least one veterinarian who spends at least 50 percent of his/her time caring for the animals in the shelter. The Fund is a family foundation that was established to help create a “no kill nation.” Proposals for Maddie’s Medical Equipment Grants should include the description and cost of the medical equipment to be purchased; the number of animals to be cared for as a result of the equipment; and a general overview of the shelter’s current medical program(s). Grant size is determined by the impact the grant will have on saving the healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats in the community. An adoption guarantee organization can be an animal shelter, rescue group, foster care organization, or sanctuary but must save all the healthy and treatable animals in their care, reserving euthanasia for only unhealthy and untreatable animals. Additional application requirements and an overview of the Fund can be found on the Web site.
