Joseph Drown Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation, created from the estate of the owner of the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, focuses its grantmaking on the following areas: education; medical and scientific research; community, health and social services; and to a lesser degree, the arts and humanities. The Foundation’s objective is to assist individuals in becoming successful, self-sustaining, contributing citizens. Programs that break down any barrier that prevents a person from continuing to learn and grow are of particular interest. The Foundation makes both operating and program support grants but does not make multi-year commitments. Most of the Foundation’s grantmaking is earmarked for organizations in Los Angeles. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
