Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund
Category: Environment
DescriptionThe Fund, an outreach component of the Walt Disney Company, is dedicated to making the dreams of family and children a reality through focused public service initiatives, community outreach, and volunteerism in areas including learning, compassion, and the environment. The Fund manages an annual cash awards program that supports efforts to study and protect the world’s wildlife and ecosystems. The efforts should also involve community participation and address human needs. The Fund focuses its grantmaking on furthering the support of established conservation programs, particularly those long-term in nature, that contain strong scientific field studies; promote education, awareness, and training in-country; and demonstrate a marked benefit to in-country participants, habitats, and species. The Fund supports U.S. based nonprofits. Nongovernmental organizations outside of the U.S. can apply in partnership with a U.S. organization. Letters of inquiry are accepted by e-mail; applications are by invitation only. The deadline is for inquiries in time for the Jan. 25, 2011 deadline for invited proposals. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
