Description

Chase, the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Enterprise Community Partners, announce the 2009 Chase Community Development Competition. Held in New Orleans, the real estate design competition matches the practical design ideas of college students working in partnership with local nonprofits dealing with real life-community needs of low- to moderate-income families in the Crescent City. The winning teams will receive pre-development grants for the sponsoring nonprofit to assist in the implementation of the student’s design. The first-place entry will receive a $25,000 pre-development grant; the second-place entry will receive a $15,000 grant, and the third place winners will receive a $10,000 grant. Any project completed during the 2009 academic school year will be eligible to compete. Project proposals must focus on New Orleans and must partner with a local nonprofit. Teams are encouraged to focus on one of the 17 target recovery areas identified by the Office of Recovery, Development and Administration. The complete proposal must include financial analysis, architectural renderings, and other relevant components. A university can have no more than two teams participating in the competition. Additional information can be found on the Enterprise Web site.
