Rosie's For All Kids
Category: Children, Youth & Families
DescriptionTelevision talk-show host, Rosie O’Donnell, created the Foundation, which focuses its grantmaking on organizations dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and low-income families. The majority of grants are made through the Foundation’s Early Childhood Care and Education program. This program offers tuition subsidies; grants for small renovations, supplies, and equipment upgrades; playground construction; and staff development opportunities. Organizations must be in operation for over five years and meet the following criteria: provide licensed, center-based, high quality childcare and education; offer full-day, full-week, year-round programs; serve children from birth through age 6; and maintain an enrollment of which at least 65 percent are children from low-income families. Low-income is defined as two times the federal poverty level. Online inquiries are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. The first step in applying is an online eligibility quiz. Additional information is available on the Web site.
